Contest Winner Entry: “There was excitement in the air. It was one week before our farewell from school. Our teachers had announced that we were to wear a saree for the farewell and dress up for the occasion. All of us girls spent the rest of the day discussing our mothers’ sarees. I knew what I would wear. I had been eyeing it since the day my mother had bought it. It was a delicate Kashmir silk in ink blue with a reddish orange border, simple yet elegant. My mom and I got down to the job of altering her blouse so it would fit me. A day before the farewell my mom surprised me with a gift, earrings which matched the saree. I was on seventh heaven.Needless to say the day went like a dream. My saree was well appreciated; I was amazed at how light it was. I had pinned it up at all the appropriate places so it would not fall out. My closest friend won the Miss School title but I was one of the finalists. I anyway felt like a winner, draped in my favorite saree.”

Congratulations Shanti Nyayapathi Bhimavarapu :) You have won yourself a Beautiful Saree worth Rs. 5000. Please mail us your contact details (Name, Address and Contact number) to kalamandir.fb@gmail.com
